interlude: the mirror check -questionnaire-

Here are the original questions, in order:
1. Given the choice of anyone in the world, who would you want as a dinner guest?
(Too many to name)
2. Would you like to be famous? In what way?
(I would only want to be recognized as an accomplished photographer, someone to say my name and the other person saying: “Oh yeah he’s dope!”.  I don’t set my goals too high, I’ve already somewhat achieved that so I’m good for now.)
3. Before making a phone call, do you ever rehearse what you're going to say? Why?
(I do, because the way how things are today nobody likes to talk on the phone anymore.  I’m old-fashion so I like to hear the person’s voice that I’m speaking to.  So I have to keep things interesting vocally or they’ll regret picking up the phone.)
4. What would constitute a perfect day for you?
(Any day I could make someone smile anywhere)
5. When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?
(During a walk after a rough day at work, and never.)

6. If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year old for the last 60 years of your life, which would you choose?
(Seeing I’m in my 30’s now, I hope the next 30 is more redeemable.  I hope that answers the question)
7. Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die?
(Besides alone, I’d hope it would be to save someone else’s life.  Other than that, I don’t.)
8. Name three things you and your partner appear to have in common.
(Musical taste, execution of colors within the arts, taste for adventure)
9. For what in your life do you feel most grateful?
(Besides the things I didn’t mention in “mirror check”, the ability to brighten someone else’s day.  Pathetic right?)

10. If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?
(Getting in photography MUCH MUCH MUCH earlier than I did)
11. Take four minutes and tell your partner your life story in as much detail as possible.
(Um….. next question?)
12. If you could wake up tomorrow having gained one quality or ability, what would it be?
(To rid of self-doubt)
13. If a crystal ball could tell you the truth about yourself, your life, the future or anything else, what would you want to know?
(Who to avoid)
14. Is there something that you've dreamt of doing for a long time? Why haven't you done it?
(Having a house, too expensive)
15. What is the greatest accomplishment of your life?
(Visiting Japan maybe? Or having my photography shown on physical platforms)
16. What do you value most in a friendship?
(Trust, companionship, laughter)
17. What is your most treasured memory?
(……. I really don’t know, I’ll try to come back to this one.)
18. What is your most terrible memory?
(2 phone calls, that’s all I want to say)
19. If you knew that in one year you would die suddenly, would you change anything about the way you are now living? Why?
(Not really, I’m already trying “the oath” and trying to better myself everyday as it is.  I’m already telling people that I love them, that’s hard enough.)

20. What does friendship mean to you?
(Everything.)
21. What roles do love and affection play in your life?
(Major, it would be nice to retreat to someone that believed in me unconditionally.)
22. Alternate sharing something you consider a positive characteristic of your partner. Share a total of five items.
(Caring, Supportive, Funny, Friendly, Understanding)
23. How close and warm is your family? Do you feel your childhood was happier than most other people's?
(Not really, a lot of “love” was missing.)
24. How do you feel about your relationship with your mother?
(Could be better because she’s hard to please, but I couldn’t ask for a better mother.)
25. Make three true "we" statements each. For instance, "we are both in this room feeling..."
(I’ll come back to this later, maybe)
26. Complete this sentence "I wish I had someone with whom I could share..."
(My success and happiness with.)
27. If you were going to become a close friend with your partner, please share what would be important for him or her to know.
(“Ride or Die” mentality, all the time.  I won’t leave you so don’t leave me.  Everybody has ups and downs, you’re not perfect and neither am I.  Just know that you won’t let you fall if you do I’ll pick you back up.)

28. Tell your partner what you like about them. Be honest this time, saying things that you might not say to someone you've just met.
(As much as I want to answer this question, every time I ever did say something to her she called it “a lie”.  So I would like to skip this question if that’s okay with you, sorry.)
29. Share with your partner an embarrassing moment in your life.
(I once came to work with 2 different pairs on shoes on)
30. When did you last cry in front of another person? By yourself?
(Telling my mother my horrifying experience with “sinking”.  I’m not supposed to cry so I haven’t cried to myself in a LONG time, I haven’t cried this year I’ll admit that.)
31. Tell your partner something that you like about them already.
(Your willingness to never let me fail.)

32. What, if anything, is too serious to be joked about?
(Not a fan of crude humor, but death is one of them.)
33. If you were to die this evening with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone? Why haven't you told them yet?
(That I love them and that I’m sorry, pride and ego.  Oh and that I’m blocked.)
34. Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire. After saving your loved ones and pets, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item. What would it be? Why?
(My camera, so I could document my rebirth.)

35. Of all the people in your family, whose death would you find most disturbing? Why?
(My mother because I know my life would dramatically change after she leaves this earth.)
36. Share a personal problem and ask your partner's advice on how he or she might handle it. Also, ask your partner to reflect back to you how you seem to be feeling about the problem you have chosen.
(Call me and we’ll talk)
